Professionally

Paul is a founding partner of the business, having started Annetts & Orchard with Peter Annetts (who has since retired) in 1984.

Paul specialises in retirement planning and often works together with Tom to give retiring clients the best of both worlds; experience and longevity. He also advises on investments and commercial insurance.

Personally

Paul loves football, cricket and rugby (watching, not playing!).

He can often be found out on the golf course with friends, spending time with his grandchildren and doing whatever he’s told to help with his wife and daughter’s horses. He is also secretary of his local football club, a role he enjoys immensely.

Paul in the spotlight

My proudest moment as a financial adviser was:

A lady came to me very upset after suddenly losing her husband at a relatively young age. She didn’t have a clue about her financial position, how to deal with probate or what her income would be going forward. I held her hand throughout the whole process and helped her make sense of her finances. Witnessing her relief when the process was completed and seeing her understand how secure her future actually is was hugely rewarding.

The things I love most about my job are:

Firstly, every day is different and so is every client. Secondly, I enjoy helping clients understand and fulfil their goals in life. Finally, being a part of our client’s lives throughout their various life stages and transitions is incredibly rewarding.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

At my local football club marking the lines, being linesman, helping behind the bar and enjoying the club spirit.

My favourite holiday is:

A golfing trip to Spain with a few good friends (although, if my wife asks, it’s our regular stays in Bournemouth!).

I turn the radio up when they play:

Anything by Adele.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

I’m told I can ‘talk for England’.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Profiteroles.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:
