All financial advisers in the UK must be registered on the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) register and hold a valid Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). In an age where financial scams pose a real threat, it’s important to make sure you don’t take financial advice from anyone who doesn’t appear on the FCA Register or hold a valid SPS.

My proudest moment as a financial adviser was:
Helping a recently-bereaved widow plan her future without her husband. She was fortunate to benefit from the pay out of a life assurance policy, but had no idea whether this money would last her. We built a financial plan with a sensible and thoroughly stress tested withdrawal policy. She’s now much more confident in her future and only needs to increase her hours at work if she wants to, not because she has to.
The things I love most about my job are:
Meeting new people, building a great team of colleagues and making a difference to people’s lives.
On an ideal weekend, you can find me:
Enjoying a family trip to the beach or the woods on the Saturday, followed by a BBQ at home with friends. I’d then clean the car on Sunday morning and relax watching the F1 race on Sunday afternoon. Perfect!
My favourite holiday is:
Camping in the UK, the children love it!
I turn the radio up when they play:
Almost any kind of dance music.
If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:
Being a backseat racing driver from the comfort of my own sofa!
When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:
Anything stodgy and chocolatey!
The three people at my dream dinner party would be:
Ayrton Senna, Brian Cox and David Attenborough.
